I posted this about a year ago. I figured it would be interesting for some of the newbies who ponder should i get a Gibson or an Ephiphone.

I recorded the same piece twice using a 1997 Ephiphone Les Paul Standard Modified with Dimarzio PAF PRO Pick ups. Yes, I relaced the switch, they only last a couple of years and a 1993 Les Paul Classic Plus with a true '60s slim taper neck. Combined with 496R/500T ceramic magnet humbucking pickups. The only editing I did was eliminate the noise of unplugging and plugging in the second guitar.

I will say the Gibson Plays better and the details are stunning. But is it really worth 3-4 times the $$$$?
