I have a Chad smith sig snare with an evans 300 hazy reso and puresound blasters snare wires. The head is tuned medium tight. I like to keep the pitch of the reso higher than the pitch of the batter.

Anyways, no matter how I adjust the snare strips and tension it seems like only the middle wires are touching the head and the other ones are not seated against the head. Is this normal? Are these 20 strand snares too wide for my snare bed or is it just the way Puresound blasters are?
