This is my first thread and I just need help with this dilema I have. I'm fourteen and I've been playing bass for about two and a half years. The bass I've got is a Ł160 Samick CR-2 (the disconntinued old model) that is light but pretty crap. The band I play in is punk bassed rock and we've been giging for about six months and have already been chose by a record company to release a single. Can't tell you the name of the band 'cause we're not supposed to tell anyone about it yet. I heard Weather Report so I naturally borrowed a fretless and learnt Birdland and am learning Night Passage. So here it is. Do I either look around for a fretless for a punk band (I don't know if that'll work or sound good) or buy this beautifull Warwick I saw in my local music shop. I think it was a Streamer Stage I. It was really beautiful and suited my playing really well. I can play fretless to the same level as freted and I always have a soft bassy sound 'cause I think the hard P-bass sound has got too predictable in punk. Any advice will be helpfull. Sorry about the length of the post.
