Ok, so the first ever band i was in broke up last week and immediately the lead singer and back up guitarist decided to form a new band with the idea of me as their drummer. I went for a jam with them and also checked out the new bassist and lead guitarist and I must say they were amazing. The difference in musical talent compared to that of my last band is pretty big and these guys are taking this band very seriously as they aim to cover 5 songs a week. I am unsure whether or not to continue with this new band. I mean, I feel like I am out of my depth as i have only been playing for 7 months and this amount of work is quite alot to handle with some of the songs being quite advanced. Plus I am currently is another less serious band with another group of friends who i enjoy playing with. But, on the other hand, this experience will inevitabily improve my playing as i will be exposed to alot of different kinds of music. The bassist for the new band is also an excellent drummer of 5 years and would be able to teach me alot. What should I do?, any advice? Thanx P.S not sure if this should be in beginner section
