Ok so ive learned the e minor penta or whatever it is. ive been soloing to it for a while now and i recorded some of it. but for some reason my tone is **** cuz the mic is just awful.

Now what i want to know is the scale to solo like people from metal bands do. What scale or mode are they usually playing in? all my solos seem to be really easy eminor pent phrases and i dont think andone from metal bands use em penta.
Does anyone know where i can find a new good scale or mode to learn thats not too hard to master and maybe some backing tracks/licks for it?

anyways- heres the recording, the backing track sounds extremely bassy and crappy cuz of the mic [man i need a new one]
