Hello! First time posting artwork - I want to get better, so be as harsh as you like. I'd also appreciate a kind of evaluation with this image - just where am I? How do I stand skill-wise? I don't care if you're harsh, I'd just really appreciate some honest feedback
This is a piece I sketched a few weeks ago, then finalized and colored recently. It's pencil with Photoshop. I had a lot of trouble with the lighting in this one - it started off as being mainly beige and browns, but the fire and creature didn't stand out at all. So, I decided to play with the lighting a bit, and settled on this hollywood-ish type color scheme. It may or may not have been a bit of a clutch - I'm not quite sure yet.
The characters are original designs of mine. My main complaint would be that they're closer than I imagined the scene in my mind - the size of the paper I was working on kind of forced them to be closer than I'd have liked
Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks

Personally, I would move the lower character to the right a bit.

I think you could stand to use some cast shadows as well.

I like what's going on here, the character in the foreground is neat.
