I want to do a monochrome study in oils. And accordingly to Richard Schmid
its supposed to be done on a surface primed with lead white.
Not gesso because that stains.

Anyone has experience with it? And do you have to take special precautions
when using toxic lead white primer?

you do notice the lead white surface when you're painting on it.

Just use an alkyd oil primer, cheaper and safer and easier to get hold...
