this year, my senior year of highschool, im taking an AP studio art course. I figured it would be fun and give me a chance to work on my portfolio, but its only given me agony. the teacher is like a rock, probably one of the most boring and unzealous teachers in the school. not only that but hes really anal about things.
anyway, the other night i was really bored- trying to do anything BUT steckbook stuff so i opened up photoshop and played around with this picture
i got creative at a friend's birthday party so i made a face out of pizza :
after about an hour in photoshop and gifmoviegear i came out with this
its not the limit of my abilities, it was just what i had in mind. :

then it occured to me that i enjoy animation more than drawing or creating pieces at a grueling pace (i work really slow). so i was wondering, what kinda stuff would a college be looking for in regards to animation? i figured i could come up with stuff other than the bizzare pizzahead guy, but i wanna know where i should start. any links or information will be helpful. thanks.
by the way, im taking a computer animation course (flash based) next semester in school so ill be able to get things done there too.
