I am about to model a character that has a lot of fur (a furry monkey!). Can anyone help me by suggesting some techniques?

i tried fur with super sculpy and it was tough for me.

You might consider making a stamp tool.

from my work in sculpty i find you have to play with it to get the tex...

Another option if you don't need to use sculpey for scales.
