My business partner, Eric Zala, and I are the film-makers behind the cult phenomena “Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation" ( the biopic of which is currently in development as a feature from Scott Rudin & Paramount ).

We're about to pitch a new action-adventure feature to studios and producers -- and seek a talented conceptual artist with whom we can collaborate.
It is a deferred-pay arrangement. That is, once we secure financing, the chosen artist will be first in line to be paid for whatever work done up to that point.
Beyond the conceptual art for the pitch, we're trying to build a team. So additionally, once we have a budget, the plan is to further employ the chosen artist for posters, artwork, storyboarding (if of interest), and possible collaboration with production design. The above would be paid work, with compensation mutually agreed upon beforehand.
The style we are seeking: Ralph McQuarrie: Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark / James Cameron: Terminator, The Abyss.
The artist would get first peek at our script, work with us one-on-one at developing our vision for what we feel is going to be a really exciting original film and get their work seen by development executives.
A few helpful questions to be answered in advance:
· Do you have an online portfolio we can see?
· What is your current schedule and what have you found to be an average window of time in which you are able to complete an illustration?
· If you were to work with us on this project, on a deferred-pay arrangement -- what are your current rates / pricing schedule for what we are setting out to do regarding conceptual work on our script? (approximately 8 illustrations).
Our decision will be based chiefly on (1) displayed talent in the adventure vein and (2) the deferred pay rates fitting within our budget.
