Hi all-

New user here!

In the past, I've only ever bought/sold small PC-type electronics on ebay.

Well, I opened my big mouth & offered to sell a set of collectable dishes for some older folks. Now, I'm stuck.

They are Royal Doulton Provencal- complete set w/the sought after coffee & teapot, large servers, sugar/creamer, etc...60 pcs., if I remember right- all nice except one teacup & one plate (which is cheap & easy enough to replace on ebay).

Anyhow- I want to do one auction & list it as an ideal & unique birthday, wedding, or anniversary gift.

The trouble is how to ship? I thought of doing it myself- but would die if it all arrived broken. I went to a UPS store & they want $90 to pack & $35 x 4 boxes for shipping. That seems ok- but then I read that they become the "owner" of the shipped items? Is this correct? If they get lost, I no longer have control as I was not the shipper?

All right- after considering all of this for about 3 weeks now, I thought that perhaps the best thing to do is to list as local, "pick-up" only. I have never done this & wanted to know if someone here could explain/walk me through the listing steps to do this?

Any other advice on listing this is extremely appreciated- I'm totally out of my realm,

Mom
