I'm 5 foot and weigh 146LBS and I'm trying to sort out how many calories I need to intake. I'm trying to come up with a menu. Lately my diet has consisted of a protein shake for breakfast, all natural peanut butter with flax seed and flax seed oil for a mid-morning snack, for lunch its grilled or baked chicken with either broccoli, green beans or a small salad, my mid afternoon snack is peanut butter again and then for dinner i have a lean meat and more green veggies. I have been lifting weights on Saturdays with my husband but can't seem to lift during the week because my husband works nights and i have a two year old son. I do have time during the week to spend 20 to 30 minutes on the elliptical. I do take a fish and flax oil supplement and I drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. I have been doing this for a month now and I have not lost an ounce. My husband told me that I should be on a 1200 calorie diet. This from a man who is 6'3" and weighs maybe 170 pounds. LOL. I did the calculation from another thread wherein it came up with this: 146 LBS X 15=2190 - 500=1690. Could someone tell me if this is correct and what i am doing wrong. I know I need to lift more and i am trying to work something out on that. I plan on taking my measurements so that i can see if i am losing inches.
