There were some large stacks gladly paying off any small stacks at the table so I decided to shorty buy (normally never do this, but thought it was a smart plan here). There was one crazy LAG, that this question refers to. First a little backround on him. He double me up on the second hand after he pushed me all in with K7 on J-10-2 board (i had AJ) so I know hes not afraid to bluff. He plays a bit like a crappy version of SpiritRock (bets 400 into 40 pot...) and I got into 2 hands with him where I am not sure how to get paid off. 1) I raise to 12 utg (2-4nl) with AA and hes the only caller. Flop is Q-J-2 rainbow. Normally ill make a large bet here to get and dangerous hands out. But against this player I check called a 20 dollar bet. River was a 10, which is awful and I check call a 30 bet. River is 2, I check he bets 30, I raise to 60 and he calls with J-9. If i show any agression here on flop or turn he probably gets away, maybee not. Thoughts? 2) SAme guy raises to 12 utg, 3 callers and I complete in BB with 7-7. Flop is K-4-4 and gets checked around. Turn is a 7. I check, villian bets 30, fold to me and I make it 60. Villian raises to 90. At this point Im ready to get all of my chips in the middle, but know if villian had garbage hes not calling. Howevr, if he has a 4 or a K its all getting in there if I check turn to him. I flat call and check river. Villian checks and shows 9-2 high. Is there any way to get paid off here. How do you guys play it? Re raise turn and hope he bluffs or lead at river., or just be happy I got what I did vs 9-2o. Normally I never play so passive, but vs this type of player, the only way to get paid with big hands was to let him bet.
