OK, this is a bit wierd. I'm looking for relatives who are or have been involved in the visual arts and have a common ancestor.... that being Thomas Addis Emmet. He came to this country from Ireland with his family in 1804. Actually he fled to this country after his brother, the great Irish patriot Robert Emmet was hanged and beheaded.

Robert had his head removed from his body before siring any children, so it was up to Thomas Addis to continue the Emmet family name here in America. He had 9 children, so it was a good start.

I've just published a website at http://www.EmmetArt.com . Thomas Addis was himself a very successful person (lawyer) and his offspring have continued to flourish in all manner of professions... the arts being one. I am interested in that aspect of our family and have set up the EmmetArt website for that purpose. So... if you are or think you are a member of the Emmet clan here in America, and you are involved in the visual arts, I'd certainly be be interested in hearing from you...
