I watched High Stakes Poker on the GSN (Oct 9th) and took notes on the ads.

There were 69 distinct ads of various lengths played over two hours of programing. The ads broke down as follows:

4 PokerStars
4 Golden Palace (casino)
2 Paradise Poker
2 Ultimate bet
1 Absolute
8 for other Network shows
48 Non-poker commercials

I do not know how fast an advertiser can pull out of a contract, but I'd think a week in advance would be reasonable (perhaps with a cancellation fee?). So, this might be some clue about who is still planning to keep plugging away at the US market.

I found Party Pokers absence to be striking since they were historically the biggest advertiser from the Poker rooms.

I would be curious to know what the ads looked like several weeks ago, if someone has a TIVO or tape to review.

PS - I discount the information about Party and its new show. Unlike normal ads, the show's sponsor may not be able to pull out of their contract. Not that it isn't hopeful, but I don't think Party would have been able to bail on such a deal in seven days.
