Posted at October 6, 2006, 10:26 am: The biggest concern I have seen on other poker forums is not that playing poker online will disppear (it won't) but that playing poker online will become less profitable or not profitable because of a decrease in the amount of "casual fish" playing I think this is largely nonsense and way overestimates the amount of people you are playing against who just deposit a few hundred here or there to donk away - especially if you play higher limits or a game other than NL Holdem The fact of the matter is, that while I play mid-stakes (5-10 and 10-20) I have PLENTY of players in my database with thousands upon thousands of hands who are consistent losers. I think there are lots of poker players who enjoy playing, and will find ways to play because they either think they are good (and they might be decent, certainly they probably beat their local B&M game, but they are not as good as me so therefore, I will take their chips over time) or simply don't care about their game Table selection might be more important and take some patience - certainly I know lots of people who liked playing at Party because they could sit down at any table and be virtually guaranteed of finding poor players, but if you are a good player, there will still be plenty of players worse than you.
