Hi all
I am writing this in hope of receiving some help and/or advice regarding these few but very important questions below.
I have studied Graphic Design for 2½ years now and have been drawing all of my life and would say I have a fair understanding of art, (including human anatomy) and design; be it through digital drawing as well as with traditional media. My dream in life is to become a Character and Monster designer, much like many of you perhaps already are or are in the progress of becoming.
However;
- I am in need of basic information on both what the concept/character design jobs generally involve work wise as well as a blunt run-down on basic salaries etc within the fields. I obviously do not know much about the character development industry as such in dept and am a most eager student to learn all about it.
- More importantly I am not certain what University I should attend in order to achieve the most out of an education to help follow my dream and would be Most grateful for any advice one might be able to give me regarding this. I am currently residing in Australia but will be returning to Sweden in early July. I have heard that the UK and even Denmark have a few Universities that are known for their good educations within game development and concept art.
If this is true, perhaps one could recommend me to the better choice of UNI therein?
