For the past two weeks we have been unable to download our Paypal history. We use this file as the framework for all of our accounting and tax preparation.

Today, we were astonished to be told by a Paypal supervisor that they are having serious problems with the download and it may not be fixed for another month or perhaps even much longer. When we asked for an alternative way of accessing the data, we were basically told SORRY. Now this I find particularly incredible: they did offer to send up a paper copy that is incomplete (critical fields missing) and of course would require us to transcribe all of our data back to electronic format. We are talking about many thousands of lines of transactions!

We run virtually all of our purchases and many of our sales through Paypal for the convenience of having all of our financial data in one place and now Paypal is saying they cannot provide it to us in a usable format and may not even have it available for us to prepare our 2005 taxes. This is how we are treated and we are one of Paypal's larger customers. We think this is outrageous.

Replies:

Try downloading month by month instead of a whole year.

Tried that over 20 times over past 15 days.

taxes are not due for another three months.

I didn't have any problem downloading my history for all of 2005.

lbriteyes, I was told it is only affecting some users.
