ok, I give up. I've pressed all the buttons now and haven't found the answer. Somehow I switched my prefs for the dropper tool to pick up a color and apply it to the additional color (not the main). Can't figure out how to get it back to the main color.

I'm sure the answer is ridiculously easy. How stupid is it though to have a pref where you would use the color picker to default to the color you're not planning to use?
