Well there doesn't seem to be much happening in this section of the forums.

We are developing a stand-alone title for the PC called Ashes Of Apocalypse: Embers Dawn. This is to be a single player post-apocalyptic RPG set in Northern California/Nevada; during the 3 years of socidal upheaval that lead to a two year period known as the Radion Wars. You basically immigrate into the United Barrier Alliance on a transport. Registering yourself as you step off the shuttle you define your character class profession ect... Through the storyline (through good intentions or bad) you end up pushing the various unstable factors together into this massive war, which has already happened by the time you play Ashes of Apocalypse (the mod) for morrowind.

Some of the major unique features that will help our game stand out.

Open Ended Development
The development process is open too the public and is influentualable by the public at large, not just the development team. The team has goals and time tables but we do look at requests and suggestions put forth in our forums or other discussions and think about how we can satisfy that request. If its doable we will add it if it is not at the moment for some reason, we put it on a to-do list to complete later.

The game basically evolves like this through patches and updates depending on what the gamers want to see in it. Once they buy the game patches and updates are free, so their game world will seem to evolve every time they wake up or load a save game. That means that new quests will be added. Conflicts will be able to take place, and result in actual consequences on the market, and throughout the storyline and subsequent quests. The game world will be alive and a changing game experience as you play it.

This also means that there would theoretically be an unlimited amount of gaming hours players could invest in the game. Someone on the forums suggests that such and such technology should be available for sale in the cities. Imagine you've just explored everything and beaten the game. You auto-download a patch, and a new technology for integrating humans and cyborgs is discovered. Anti-bioborg technology riots break out in the streets, and as a UBA police officer on the volunteer riot squad you get a new assignment to go with your team and contain it! This then being an event that happens at a certain point in the games time line, and one that was also not present in the game prior to the patch.

A rippling choice effect where by depending on who you are and what choices you make, will influence the world and the quests. Say for instance you're part of an in-game counter terrorist force and also a gun smuggler. Somewhere along the storyline your squad discovers you smuggle guns (potentially for terrorists) and because of that gives you a completely new set of quests for the smugglers and breaks off all ties with the counter terror squad. AT the same time you get un-forseen opportunities to join some groups you might have never been able to before. As game updates happen these various little finley crafted twists & turns get added more and more here and there, basically expanding the realm of things that are possible to do within the game.

A leveling system which basically instead of leveling you up, makes you better at the things you DO. So if you were to use an axe and hack away at a training dummy, your axe skill would go up and you would get considerably better with your axe. If you then throw your axe away and use a pistol, your aim will improve, and perhaps you will learn some tricks and upgrades. But after a week or so your memory of axe hacking might start to degrade a little. They would of course degrade allot slower than you can train them, and your overall level will not degrade regardless of how much your skills might. They might actually degrade to a limit depending on how high they've been trained up, and what quests you might have done within the game. This will insure a much more rich and expansive character growing experience, and will prevent players from instantly becoming 'gods' within the game world.

Were also planning to implement a very sophisticated and complex crafting system which would allow you to make all sorts of herbs, guns, foods, clothes, ect. With a complex economical system within the world you would also be able to trade and smuggle goods within the game world for profit as an actual game play feature to quests. Dint want to have to go find some elusive dude to collect his bounty. Buy up some crystal from a contractor at a nearby mine, rent a hover truck and drive down to the capitol where they sell for 1000 a piece for use in aligning the focus of Magnion power generators that provide electricity for the entire city.

We will be using the unigine engine, and putting the final project up for download or through steam if possible. As a hobbyist team learning how to make video games more than anything we are not hell-bent on money. How ever when the game does get released every team member present at the time will get some % even percent of the income.

We are looking for many people to join the team. Areas that need to be filled the most are modeling, animation, programming, concept art, illustration. I multitask soo many things on the project that I really don't have the time to devote myself to studying the fine intricacies of photoshop.
