Posted at January 30, 2006, 11:41 am: Hi All! Can someone explain this ebay policy to me? I sold an item on ebay in June. She came to my house, picked up the items, and after her truck was full, she paid me with her business check,even though my auction said no. (yeah I know, dumb, I'm a newbie). It bounced. I did lots of detective work,(trying to make a long story short) She hasn't lived at that address for 1 1/2 years, her bank is going after her, she's got countless lawsuits against her,and she has done this to others. She is opening up a gift shop with my stuff! I have the police in 3 different cities involved, the sherriff, the DA, Fraud.org, online FBI division etc, (over the internet AND state lines!)chamber of commerce, BBB...the list goes on. Looks like charges are going to be filed on my behalf.It wasn't for a lot of money, but I can't let her keep doing this to others too.This has been a nightmare! On day 90 after the auction end, I gave her bad feedback. On day 114 she left me bad feedback. (yes I didn't think you could leave feedback then, but when I questioned Ebay, they said, we shouldn't have, but now that it's there, we won't remove it) I have asked ebay for my fees. They won't reimburse me coz I wouldn't agree that the case was closed. She now has filed for bankcruptcy!I can't have my stuff back (even though I know where my stuff is), and I cannot have any contact with her. Here's the clincher.... Ebay has been informed of this whole mess as it was happening. They told me to take her to Square Trade. I did. When we were in THE MIDDLE of mediation, they removed my feedback I left for her coz I said the police were involved (yes, I know now I can't say that).So she cut off all contact with mediation so Im stuck with another $30!!! Square Trade even said Ebay shouldn't of done that. I filed for a non pay strike against her. Ebay said they won't tell me if they gave it to her. They 'hide' those strikes from other ebay members.They said their policy is 3 strikes and your out! So, does that mean then, ebay will let you steal 2 auction items, with their help, before you're kicked off??!! She's still a registered user, even though she commited theft, commited fraud, passed a worthless check and is now bankrupt!That policy is insane! Why would they have such a policy?
