Posted at May 1, 2005, 10:09 am: Hello USA, My name is James. I need help in the form of an email "petition" from any of my fellow eBay members in the USA. Full details are below: This has already been sent out to many of my customers. Please make sure you first understand the situation before sending a "petition" email in to www.sip-group.com I hope you can help. Dear Customer and fellow eBay member, SIP Products - Petition UPDATE - Can you help please by sending an email in the form of a "petition" direct to SIP in support of my company Bid A-Tool (I am a sole trader and work completely on my own so I need all the help I can get). SIP let me open an account and it was active. I then prepared 300 products (3 weeks work night and day). I then load them in to my eBay shop and now basically SIP have changed their mind about supplying me (Full details are below). What makes this situation worse is that I have been selling SIP products over the past few weeks, even though I have been trying to avoid it. I keep having to refund the customers and explain that "SIP don't want me to sell to customers like yourself". If you could forward this email on to friends and family that would like to help with this "petition" then please feel free. You can send your "petition" emails to these Joint Managing Directors or Tel. SIP 01509 500300. MarcoI@sip-group.com Joint Managing Director pauli@sip-group.com Joint Managing Director I AM VERY SORRY THIS EMAIL IS SO LONG BUT I HAVE TO GIVE ALL THE FACTS AS TRUTHFULLY AS I CAN. This email also includes a LETTER and EMAILS direct from SIP. May I thank many of my customers and fellow eBay members for their support so far. Your email response in a form of a "petition" direct to SIP and even phone calls was amazing (the response even shocked me). On Monday 18th April 2005, SIP were hit with a large volume of emails, complaining about SIP's treatment of Bid A-Tool. This prompted an immediate response from SIP and they visited my office on the same day (I only live 20 minutes away from them. It's a shame they could not have come to see me before all this happened). It was followed by a letter which I have included below at the bottom of this email. As of yet as far as I am aware, no customer that sent in a "petition" email has received a reply back from SIP. www.sip-group.com Despite the above, SIP are still REFUSING to back down and are still trying to go back on a previous agreement to supply me with SIP products that I can sell in my eBay shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Bid-A-Tool As you are aware, SIP agreed and Opened an Account for Bid A-Tool on account number B1093 after documents were faxed to SIP on the 9th March 2005. Money was deposited in to account B1093 using a VISA debit card as the bank statement shows. They also sent me dealer catalogues and the 2004 dealer price list. I also received the Master CD of all SIP photo's and descriptions of products (At the moment according to SIP this account is on hold. This is a "cash" account. All this means, is that money is paid upfront for products before they are dispatched to customers (Just as you customers pay me for items before I despatch your order). Approximately 300 SIP products were then prepared over a 3 week period from the 12th March 2005 (Very hard work, believe me). On Saturday 2nd April 2005, all 300 products were loaded in to my eBay shop. On the 14th March I was given this email address AdrianM@sip-group.com by Shaun Field Area Sales Manager - Area 11. This person, Adrian Mason was assigned to care for my account and any orders. The email correspondence between us which I have, begins from the 14th March 2005 until the 4th April 2005 and includes talk about prices and a file that contained stock numbers and due dates. After this date I received NO MORE correspondence from Adrian Mason. I tried to find out why and then on the 7th April 2005 I received this email out of the "blue" form Adrian Mason's Boss - Shaun Field. As you can see, this email contains the sentence "Companies need to have a showroom, to display stock". This sentence does not even appear in the letter I was sent form Wayne Baker dated 20th April 2005. It also say's in this email below "I apologise for the outcome, but we do have strict company policies on opening account". "strict company policies"??? In my opinion, SIP's company policies can "change with the wind" as far as I can make out. Why don't they just come out and say "We don't want you to sell our products"! - Because they are not allowed. Email: 07 April 2005 07:03 James, I have now been given the criteria to open a trade account with SIP. 1. It needs to be a credit account, as we no longer support cash accounts. 2. Companies need to have a showroom, to display stock. 3. A minimum of £1000 stock order to open the account. I apologise for the outcome, but we do have strict company policies on opening account. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Best Regards Shaun Field Area Sales Manager -Area 11 SIP Group Ltd At the moment Bid A -Tool can claim the Greatest number of SIP products (300) in any one place on eBay. Another approximately 300 products were to be added later. That would have made 600. WHY is SIP making it so difficult for me to sell these products as agreed? Why is a £27 Million Leicestershire company not supporting fully, Bid A-Tool, a Leicester company? I hate boasting about my achievements on eBay because Bid A-Tool is nothing without it's customers but WHY is SIP not "bending over backwards" to fully help and support an eBay seller with over 10,000 feedback at 99.9% positive. Can I say that I think SIP's range of tools is SUPERB. They are well made and of a very high standard. SIP's motto is "The Pursuit Of Excellence. As a company, SIP have achieved this with their product range. What I have a problem with is their management team and especially Marco Ippaso (Joint Managing Director) who in my opinion is "short sighted" to the power of the internet to promote his products. In my opinion, Marco Ippaso appears to like to take Control of his sales team, distributors and sellers who in my opinion must keep to strict "boundaries" and are not allowed to explore new Horizons and Opportunities. In my opinion Marco Ippaso needs to be disciplined. The Greek word for discipline actually means to be "Re-adjusted". Marco Ippaso in my opinion needs to be "Re-adjusted" in his thinking, in the way he is running his business and change his attitude quickly towards the internet because the internet is where it's all heading. SIP need now to create good internet sellers or they will be left behind. The best advertisement SIP can give themselves is to get these products in to customers hands. I have told SIP that once all products were loaded into my eBay shop that it would give SIP the greatest single concentration and exposure of SIP products on eBay and probably in the whole world. Why do SIP want to hide away their Hugh range of products from the "publics eyes" in the biggest "shop window" in the world? - eBay Are their company polices (which can be changed overnight) more important to them than what I can give and offer? As you can see below from the letter I was sent, SIP now want to convert this "cash" account in to a credit account "due to a recent tightening of SIP'S company policy". As stated above I was able to transfer money in to my account on the 4th April 2005 (bank statement proves this). Dave in accounts had no problem doing this. His direct number is 01509 500346. By the 7th April 2005 as shown in the email above Shaun Field sent me, it say's this "It needs to be a credit account, as we no longer support cash accounts". So does this mean that within 3 days, SIP changed their policies? This is a ridiculous situation. It is like me saying to my customers on eBay, "I am sorry but due to a recent tightening of Bid A-Tool's company policy, we no longer take Debit Cards through PayPal, only Credit Cards. I have told SIP that by turning down my "cash" account they are in an affect turning down over £500,000 a year based on their product range. What company turns down over £500,000 and money that is Guaranteed? As you can also see from the letter SIP sent to me below, SIP are accusing me of making "slanderous statements" in the first petition email I sent out to customers. These sentences were: SIP in my opinion don't care at all about their customer. (Referring to me) To me SIP have insulted the eBay community. (Yes by not letting an eBay seller with my feedback record sell their SIP products to the eBay community). Not only are SIP making it difficult for me to access my account and sell their tools to my approximately 18,000 customer base and the eBay community at Competitive prices, they are now saying I am not allowed to have an opinion or feelings about this very frustrating situation that SIP have put me in. I could easily go through SIP's procedure again (as outlined in the letter below) for converting my "cash" account in to a credit account but what is the chance, it will be successful after all the "trouble" they think I have caused them. What "recent company policy" changes will they bring up then, to try and "Off Load" Bid A-Tool. I think it is only fair that SIP should keep to their original agreement but then again that is just my personal opinion. It says in the letter below "all Cash Accounts have ceased and in the majority of cases, have now been converted into Credit Accounts"........So not all cases then? So why can't I keep my cash account as was originally agreed? I did request a meeting with one of the Directors and got this reply: Email: 26 April 2005 16:46 "I have received your email requesting an appointment. I do not feel that us meeting would prove fruitful at this stage. You are in receipt of the letter sent to you by Wayne Baker dated 20 April 2005 informing you of our credit account requirements. To-date I am led to believe that as nothing has been received from you, you are either unable or unwilling to comply. We note that our products still appear on your ebay site and have not been removed. We have also not received any evidence or indication that a retraction has been distributed to your customers regarding the statements made. As warned, we will now approach this matter through legal channels as we regard your statements to be liable". Yours sincerely Marco Ippaso Joint Managing Director (As you can see from the above email. Not only have SIP put me through preparing 300 products for nothing, over three weeks day and night for my eBay shop, but now they are asking me to remove 300 products from my eBay shop which involves going through 1,000 separate eBay web pages. This is the only bit I can't prove in this email but Wayne Baker who's name appears on the letter I was sent, told me on the phone that SIP had even telephoned eBay to complain that I had SIP products in my shop that I didn't hold any stock of and so I was breaking eBay's policies and so these SIP products should be removed). Dear customers and the eBay Community. This is not about "Vengeance", this is about "JUSTICE" in an unjust situation. Can you help and respond once again as you did before in the form of a "petition" direct to SIP? I am not forcing anyone to do so. I only want you to do so because YOU want to and to be free to express yourself. I have presented you with the facts as truthfully as is possible. You may have your own opinions about this puzzling and bizarre situation that SIP have put me in. You may like an answer back direct from SIP. If you can get any friends or family members or Organizations that you know could or would like to help me with this petition, then please forward on this email. When will SIP see sense and realise that customers and consumers can "bite" hard. Customers are what keep SIP and Bid A-Tool in business. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- THESE ARE SOME OF SIP's Email address's, Tel. number and website. Please put in your "subject line" of your email, Petition and Support for Bid A-Tool, or you may like to call them by telephone. Trading Account - It was explained to you that due to a recent tightening of SIP'S company policy, all Cash Accounts have ceased and in the majority of cases, have now been converted into Credit Accounts. This will explain why your initial enquiry to open a Cash Account was granted and then turned down. However, like all previous Cash Account holders, SIP will be delighted to consider opening a Credit Account based on the following terms. 1. Initial Stock Investment of £ 1,000.00 2. Completed Account Credit Application Form 3. 2 Trade References 4. Bank Reference 5. A copy of your Company Letterhead 6. A signed copy of SIP'S UK Conditions of Sale All of the above is documented in our current Price List, of which we showed you on Monday. 2. SIP Products on your e-bay shop - You explained that you have listed approx 300 SIP products on your ebay shop. Unfortunately, due to yourselves not holding a current Credit Account we cannot supply you with any product. Obviously, once you have applied, your request has been authorised and you have received a letter from SIP to that effect, we will visit you again to discuss Trading Terms. At that point SIP will load your agreed terms onto our system and we can men commence trading. However, in me mean time may I suggest mat you cancel/delete all SIP Products Offers immediately, in order that you are not faced with any initial embarrassment. 3. Petition - As explained during our meeting, the petition you have e-mailed to approx 4,500 of your customers contains untrue statements about SIP. You agreed mat you would e-mail back to your customers reversing these statements. However, should SIP not receive substantial proof of you retracting these slanderous statements, we will have no alternative than to start our Legal enquires. I trust that the above brings to an end any unsure policies regarding SIP'S terms of trading, however, should you require any further clarification please do not hesitate in contacting me direct.
