I know this is totally off topic,but I'm desperate for some advice on this and it occurred someone here might be able to help.

My son is travelling from the UK to the States and then down through south America on a gap year trip before University. Part of that trip involves a trip to Cuba,but I have read somewhere that it is not possible to use credit cards from American banks or American Express travellers cheques there. His credit card is HSBC, which I'd thought was British owned ,but could be US owned too!

Anyone got any idea on this ?
