...this stemmed from a post in another forum, and since I didn't want to be a dick and hijack the other guys thread, I decided to post this here, where it seems to go.


I've only been using GB/WB for 2 weeks, but at the request of pu12en12g I decided to give a little review of my personal encounter with it.

I'm not really going to talk about the advertised mass gains, simply because I haven't been lifting long enough to give myself or GB/WB a fair chance to be reviewed in that category.

Increased strength: I believe I have increased my strength over the last 3 weeks. I've gone from benching 135lbs to 145lbs. I've gone from squatting 135lbs to 150lbs. I've gone from deadlifting 125lbs to 145lbs. Now, some of this could be attributed to me getting the weights nailed down for how many sets and reps I'm doing (as you can see in my sig I'm following Mark Ripptoe's program). Some of it could also be contributed to *newbie* gains. But I also believe that some share of this contribution goes towards using a quality creatine supplement. Next week I'll be bumping my bench weight to 150lbs (yes I realize this isn't the *exact* prescribed method in the Ripptoe program [which is 2.5%], but it's suiting me well so far and besides I don't have .5lb plates to get my increments that close) and I feel totally comfortable in doing that.

Increased pump: I can say I do feel great after working out. Feeling the muscles swell but not be so sore is a great feeling.

I can also say that my muscles do not feel nearly as sore as they do the day after or 2nd day after while I've been using GB. In my opinion, that alone is worth it simply because I feel great that day and I want to do it again. If that can be contributed towards GB, then all the better.

As for WB. I stack that with GB about 30 minutes before I workout. I do notice that I *maintain* a certain level of strength throughout my sets (as opposed to my muscles getting too taxed to complete a 3rd set; which would happen occasionally before I was using the stack) and I do like that.

So far I have been happy with the products. I truly appreciate being able to take creatine in a pill form. I absolutely hate creatine powder. One powder (protein) is enough for me. I never feel like I get all of the creatine powder either unless I want to scoop the soggy remains up with spoon and quickly swallow (yech!).

The only products I can truly compare GB/WB to are No-explode and a creatine monohydrate powder.

Lets not even go there with the creatine monohydrate powder. Hard to mix, can get all of it, but damned if you're not *scooping* for it. Not to mention measuring out how much to take and when and etc etc, blah, I'm lazy, so what.

No-xplode is an interesting product (I still have more than half a tub full sitting on top of my refrigerator). When I got it and first tried, I didn't think the taste was bad and I got quite the energy kick (which I do not get with GB/WB). I went right out and probably bench pressed the most I've ever been able to do (ramping the weight though, I did not do the idiot thing and put on as much weight as possible without warming up) which was 185lbs (for me that's a lot heh).

I was amazed. But after using it a while, it sort of lost that edge, I steel felt the energy kick, but not as much. And every time after I worked out I felt like puking (did not, but felt like it).

The taste also eventually got to me and once again I did not care to hassle myself with mixing, drinking and scooping the left overs at the bottom (although not nearly as much as creatine monohydrate powder).

In my opinion GB/WB has satisfied exactly what I want after trying a couple things. No I don't get the energy kick I got with no-xplode, but I also don't feel like crap after my workout and instead I like the pumped feeling and can't wait to get back at it again. GB/WB so far, has been giving me a consistent feel and until that changes I will continue to use the products.
