Posted at November 27, 2002, 9:01 am: Brownies have become the stuff of myth and legend (not to mention bouts of pure silliness) on the AuctionBytes Book Forum. They have been used for metaphor, illustration, analysis, jokes and as the comfort food of choice among that crowd. One of the amazing results is a reserve of more than a bazillion (that a one with 1.5 million zeros after it) Brownie Points in a special account just for patrons of the AuctionBytes Forums. During the holiday season we can all add to Brownie lore by using this huge resource of Brownie Points. You may be a lurker, regular, or irregular and be eligible to lavish and bestow Brownie Points upon your peers in celebration of their generosity, kindness, smarts, wit, cleverness and all other redeeming features during the holiday season. AuctionBytes members are welcome to make their awards at any time and in any amount that they think is suitable by their standards. How do I find the Brownie Points, you say? As with all things in the world of Brownies they can be found only by those of good cheer with generosity of spirit and appear in the form of a rich, dark, chocolate substance that is baked and found to be irresistible. As you're posting a message on the boards, they will magically appear alongside all of the other icons on your screen. Simply add your Brownie Points to your message on the AuctionBytes threads...with wild abandon, we hope...we don't want to have any left over!! The Brownies will be coming out of the oven just in time for dessert on Thanksgiving day. Make sure you get your fill of them, and pass them around generously, because they'll disappear as the clock strikes midnight (or whenever I get around to it) on New Year's Day 2003 and won't reappear until Thanksgiving of next year. Happy Holidays! Ina & Dave (and thanks to the two "Brownies" that cooked up this idea!)
