Posted at December 24, 2004, 4:44 am: Lately, I feel like all of my money is lost to paypal and ebay fees. I know I'm not the only one and ebay fees are part of the ebay way of life. However, with ebay fees comes paypal fees and because I'm doing more business it's getting enourmous. Brief history of me: I've been on ebay since 1998. I've sold odds and ends through auctions, but recently I opened up a store in April of 2004. I understand that sometimes you have to include packaging and handling fees. But, for me that's getting old. In addition, due to paypal fees and some policies and procedures of paypal, I've decided to look at other payment services. SO, WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION??? I've done some research and I've broken down my payment service choices into two. CCNOW - http://www.ccnow.com/sellOnline.html?submit=+Selling+Online+ CHECKFREE - https://retailpayments.checkfree.com/CAPCheckout/AuctionOpen.aspx FEES: CCNOW - $9.95 monthly fee, FREE transactions up to $100 a month. Anything over $500 is charged a flat fee of 9%. Seems high, but when I calculated my monthly sales, it seems that CCNOW is slightly cheaper than paypal. They do alittle website promo for you and they do have a good reputation. CHECKFREE - no monthly fee, 1.85% plus .30. The problem is I don't know anything about this company and I don't even know if it's legitimate. Overall this is by far the cheapest method, but I feel skeptical about giving a payment service my PRIVATE info, if I don't know anything about them??? Anyways, my question. Can anyone provide me REAL feedback about those two payment services??? I'm looking for people who actually have used CCNOW or CHECKFREE services. OR possibly can someone suggest another payment service that is low-cost or maybe a cheap merchant account for accepting credit cards?? Feel free to respond and give me your comments. thank you in advance. jen Original of the message was taken from http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/ Replies:What PayPal and other places charge is based on your volume.Nothing is set in stone.
