I'm on my 7th week of the 5x5 program and I hit a wall. I changed the sets and reps to 3x3 on the bench part with the increasing weights because I cant do the 5x5. Here is a sample:

Bench Press-5x5- 155, 175, 195, 215, 235

I couldnt finish all 5 on the set of 235 so I did what members said and changed it to 3x3.

Bench Press-3x3- 195, 215, 235

I did this fine but it didnt feel like it worked me out very well.

Should I keep doing the 3x3 as long as I can progress and add on the 5 pounds every week or try something else?

Also I was wondering if I could use the 5x5 while cutting. Would it be possible to still see strength gains while on a very gradual cutting routine?

Keep adding weight until you can't get the 3 reps, then drop the weigh...

Dunno which 5x5 your working with but I believe in the intermediate 5x...

It's okay to have this kinda problem on 5x5.
