Posted at January 1, 2005, 2:15 pm: I'm interested in other seller's opinions on this... I've been selling on Ioffer for well over a year now, and in the past several months have had some good sales. About 30 or so sales in the last few months. I've created automatic bulk upload files, so creating auctions is not time-consuming. But a few things are just beginning to really irk me...(and realize, I sell hundreds of items per month, and efficiency is extremely important to me since I only work about 3 hours a day due to a disability) 1 - All of my auctions are in mulitple quantities, but if someone buys 2 or more items, shipping costs are not recalculated. This is not a small problem for me since it's not usually discovered until after they've paid. 2 - I only recently discovered that if you have an item listed for, lets say, $20, and someone negotiates you down to $15 and you accept it, that the price of the remaining items are now $15 for everyone else as well. I personally see this is a "bug", but I've been told it's in the design. How rediculous. I'll often give a price break because someone purchases in quantity, or puchases other items. You can go back and edit the price - but it's timeconsuming. 3 - Ioffer gets slower each day. It's the slowest website I visit, period. It's so slow sometime getting sales data up that my browser times out. It's pathetically slow, and can't imagine why buyers even bother with it. 4 - Extremely high NPB rate. So many of the "negotiations" on Ioffer are total wastes of time since the buyers never pay. About 30% in December of my sales were NPB. What a time waster. (Interestingly enough, I haven't had a single NPB on Ebay since Oct 31, 2004 - and I think it's because of those new "seller preferences" options). 5 - Ioffer customer support seems to have just stopped answering email. I've written them several times in the last few months asking about some problems I was having, and I don't even get a form-mail reply. (My last one was to reverse an NPB (they finally paid) - no response, even though a reversal gets them $$.) 6 - Time consuming process. Low balls offers, counter offers, counter-counter offers. Get like 3 or 4 of these going simultaneously and it's unbearable. I can process a hundred sold ebay auctions or website sales a week easy - but I think it can take more time to "handle" a dozen ioffer sales. 7 - Search engine competition with my own website. It's always better to sell off my own website, and I am effectively listing a selling price in one place - which is just an "asking price" on ioffer (and there is no way to bulk-upload items as "non-negotiable" - already tried that). No FVF's on my own site either. I also think the same items gets a lot more hits off my website than off of Ioffer. So....I'm not sure it's worth listing there anymore. I look at those 30 last sales and see discounting - nothing huge, but it adds up. And I see a lot of time invested to make those sales that I didn't have to invest in Ebay or my website. No listing fees, but in a real way, it balances out with the time it takes. You all know my thought (if you've been here awhile). -+That's exactly how I feel. I'm of no use when it comes to IOffer - never bought or sold there. Just wanted to add couple additional points. I have had a store at ioffer since August and I find that site to be i... -+Yes, me too, I agree. Other Topics of AuctionBytes:Records, LPRaffle a Rolls Royce idea?
