I'm currently going through a cutting phase and would like to know if it is possible to add muscle to burn fat? I've always heard that it is better to lose the fat first and then add the muscle later. But then I sometimes hear that muscle by itself tends to burn fat, so which is better??

Also (sorry for not creating a new thread but this is a quick question). How long long are typical cycles (bulking, cutting, maintennce)?? 3 months ok??
