I've been weight training and working out since memorial day. I'm a 21 y/o guy who has always been average or just on the skinny side you could say. While I've been on the skinny side, I still do have belly fat. I know it's the last place to have fat leave when you burn it off though. I started at 6'0 166 but now I have gone up to 180 in 8 weeks. I workout in the afternoon and have a protein shake right after, followed by a lunch or either turkey or chicken sandwich with various fruits as well.

But I want to know if I might be overtraining. I bought a barbell and dumbell, (I have no bench), not enough space for a bench. I work out Monday through Friday. And run about three days a week, 3-4 miles.

My exercises alternate every other day. One week I do three days and two of the other. So ABABA, followed by the next week of BABAB All of them are three sets of anywhere from 10-12 reps. My workouts last from 40-60 minutes. Here it is, in no particular order:

A-hammer curl, bicep curl, concentration curl, tricep extension, tricep kickback, reverse curl, wrist curl, reverse wrist curl, squat, deadlift, powerclean

B-barbell military press, dumbbell lateral raise, barbell shrug, reverse barbell shrug, barbell bent-over row, dumbbell fly, Dumbbell Lying External Rotation, Dumbbell lying internal rotation, dumbell pullover, one arm bench press.

Since I have no bench, I lie on the floor for the lying down exercises. Since I have no bench, I can't do a normal bench press, which is why I do dumbell bench, one arm at a time, so I can get the dumbbell down without injuring myself.

I have a few questions. How is that workout? I'm seeing some gains in some areas such as my arms and shoulders, a little bit in the chest as well. About how long does it take to really see the results? A better chest and abs is something I really want. I do do ab work three times a week. My better diet I think will help me in the body fat department as well. Are there any more or different exercises I can do for the chest especially?

I wish I had pics to show the progress, because I think it's been good for an 8-week span. Let me know what you guys think, and thanks a lot for the help and advice.

Yeah, your routine isn't ideal for bodybuilding.
