Currently I workout using a version of the push pull program to get ready for football season

DAY1 - Chest
DAY2 - Rest
Day3 - Shoulders/Tris
Day4 - Back/Bis
Day5 - Rest
Day6 - Legs

it varies from week to week... sometimes i will do a chest/tri and back/bi shoulder/leg routine... it all depends on what days I meet with my trainer.

However... my question is this... obviously I did not do all this hard work in the off season for no reason... and I do want to loose it all when the season starts so I need to find a way to somehow workout during the football season. I was looking at mainly 2 programs... the 3x5, and 5x5 to use during the season. How I am going to find time to squeeze this workouts in I will have to figure out once the season starts. However the main question I have is that on the 3x5 (the 5x5 as well i think?) it includes squatting 3 times a week. Now my question is that if I did these routines squatting 3 times a week... + practice every single day... would this lead to severe overtraining in my legs. Also which of these 2 .. or any others.. would you reccomend as a during season program.

Just do the football weight sessions.

Well we just got a new coach this year.

I would say yes.

I play LB/RB I am currently just taking optimum whey .

Don't use the 3 work outs per week in season.

Since it seems you get a lot running time in those two positions I mig...

so currently I can hit sets of 6 on the flat bench with 185 with good ...

as for the creatine.

IN SEASON--------Normal 1) 35------------- 55 2) 65------------- 1...

how am I going to bench 35 if the the bar weighs 45?

Then use just the bar, 10 pounds more on your first set won't make any...

quick question.

Riptoe's program is desighned for brginners and he's trying to kill 2 ...

so what advantage does pyramiding have.

Pyramids will build more strength and speed, strenght x speed = power.
