Posted at November 4, 2004, 2:14 pm: I wish that I had a penny for every time I have hit the reload button and prayed that the Andale Counters for my Ebay items would be correct and that I don't get their ERROR page that ALWAYS tells you it is YOUR computer that is the cause or that the page could not be found. I have been on the internet of a long time and do not remember any internet site that caused me so many problems and wasted so much of my time. I have 2000+ Ebay auctions/store items at all times and I would love to change to another counter, but the cost in prohibitive for that many items. And no way am I going to put counter HTML in that many pages! Right now my counter page says that many items that already have counters need to have counter added. If I hit RELOAD, I may get a page that shows that MANY items that are still active have ended. OR The whole 1st page of counters may be missing. Take your pick. All I know is that I will NOT see a correct counter page. MANY times when I try to add a lot of counters, I get an error message but when I check, the counters were added. I decided to sign up for free trial of Andale Counters Pro. Certainly the pay-for product MUST be easier and/or more reliable. WRONG. No change. Andale seems to pay a little more attention to problems that "paying" customers have. I emailed them about the problems I was having and I was told to reset my I.E. Browser Internet Options. So I did per their recommendation. No change. No response from Andale to my email telling them that it did not fix the problem. I do not know what the root of the problem is. It could be that my IE browser is at fault. If that is the problem, it seems like a horrible and unreasonable burden to put the on the user to figure out how to fix it. Or to expect them to just live with it. I also run Mozilla Foxfire as an alternative browser and it has some compatibility problems with Andale's counters. Not an option. I did email Andale and told them about the Mozilla problems. I was told "Thanks, but we only are concerned with I.E." If other people have 1/2 the problems I have, I can well imagine that they spend all of their time trying to figure out how to make it work with I.E. and have no time to even think about Mozilla. The bottomline for me is that I see no affordable alternative counter solution for me personally. I do not have the time or patience to keep tweaking my I.E. to fix Andale's Counters on MY end. I've seen these problems "magically" disappear and the counters work correctly after a period of time. All I can do is hope that they will do that soon. I will NOT keep their Pro Counters after the free trial ends. I can live with counters that may or may not work. But Hades will freeze over before I trust MY items to be managed by any of their other pay-for auction management "solutions". If anyone has had a problem with their counters and found a solution, PLEASE post it. I would personally love to know. And I am sure that Andale would love to know.
