I have done a lot of research and I am going to start this program today........Am I missing anything......Please critique.



Tues/Thurs/Sat A/B/A - B/A/B

Workout A

-Squats 3X5
-Bench Press 3X5
-Dips 3X8
-Deadlift 1X5
-Ab Work

Workout B

-Squats 3X5
-Military Press 3X5
-Bent Rows 3X5
-Chin Ups 3X8
-Power Cleans 3X5
-Ab Work


I will be throwing in 1 - 2 days of cardio a week.


I am 24 years old 5'7'' and 150lbs.

My diet is pretty much in order and I am taking a few supps i.e. Protein Shake, Creatine, Multi, Fish Oil.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because that is how the beginner 5x5 workout is set up.

I have to agree with Andrew on this one based on personal experience.

I am eating every 3 - 4 hours that I am awake.

Less shakes, more solid foods.

No, Starting Strength needs to be followed as it's laid out.

Workout went great.

Yeah and lunges work great to if you can throw enough on the bar.
