Allow me to introduce myself... Name's Evan, I am a resident of Cypress (town right outside of Houston), TX, just turned 17 as of June 4th, and have been lifting seriously for a year and a half now. I started out standing at a dinky 6', 135 pounds, and an estimated 8% bodyfat. I have since progressed to become around 6'1", 180 pounds, and 7.5% bodyfat. I posted some transformation pics on here a few months back and got a lot of props on those.
Not long after those pictures were posted I sort of disappeared from the forums, being limited with bodybuilding by school, my sister's wedding and all the chaos which is brought about by such affairs, limited access to my normal gym, and a partial lack of motivation. Certainly not a bodybuilding standstill, just not really progressing and losing a few pounds.
I began working out in December of 2004 in my garage on a very limited free weight setup, equipped with a beginners motivation and no diet whatsoever. Eventually I found this site, and in 2nd quarter 2005 began training in a friends neighborhood gym, staying there for nearly a year and gradually acquiring a good diet. I lost access to that gym in April of this year, but have since bought a membership at LA Fitness, which is quite possibly the nicest gym I have ever had the pleasure of setting foot in. I have been getting in there almost everyday since June 4th now, sometimes twice a day to do some cardio, calves and abs.
In addition to hitting the gym more frequently, I have began hardcore dieting again, hoping to reach my goal of 187-190 by the end of summer. I am stuck right now in the sort of "buff swimmer" look, which I would like to change and look more like an intermediate level bodybuilder, someone you look at and can immediately tell they work out. I'm a naturally born ecto-mesomorph, have always been a little on the skinny side. I am hoping that by the end of next summer I will have put on enough mass to begin thinking about competing, something which has always captured my interest and is seeming to prove itself more achievable than I ever thought.
The first picture I have posted is from Christmas of 04, all the other from around February of this year. No dramatic changes have taken place since then, but hopefully by the end of the summer there will be. I will try to get current pictures taken today, or at least sometime soon. As of now, my main lagging areas are probably chest, lats, calves, and possibly tris... so I'm hoping to get those caught up as well.
The main reason I plan on writing this journal is to get help from more experienced bodybuilders who have been where I am. Although I consider my knowledge of lifting and nutrition to be respectable, I am aware that I know only a small fraction of what there is to know. So to all of you more experienced bodybuilders... please, spare no criticism or advice. I have pretty much this entire summer to focus on bodybuilding (except for time needed for work), and would really like to get the most out of it, regardless of what that entails.
My typical diet is as follows:
Breakfast:
-1 cup eggbeaters (24g protein)
-1 cup oatmeal cooked in skim milk
-banana
Lunch:
-Turkey sandwich w/ whole grain bread, 1 slice cheese, and a whole lot of turkey from the Kroger deli (est. 25g protein)
-Apple
Preworkout:
-Peanut butter sandwich (either reduced fat or all natural peanut butter... whichever my mom decides to buy)
-Banana
-Quaker Q-smart bar (10g protein)
Postworkout:
-Some sort of meat, either tuna or some precooked fajita meat
-Some kind of fruit/vegetable
-Carb source
-Protein shake immediately after workout, meal is when I get home
Dinner:
-Whatever mom cooks... usually healthy, some combination of a protein source, complex carb source, and greens
Before bed:
-Sometimes fat free cottage cheese when I can stand it, otherwise something high protein and healthy

This diet is very subject to change depending on what I'm doing that day... sometimes I have to schedule around work, in which case I'll eat a sandwich on the way, protein bar at some point in my shift, and another sandwich on my break. I usually go to the gym before or after work, whichever is more convenient.

As far as training goes, I am not on a strict schedule, but make it normally 3/4 days, and just have each day devoted to a part. Once I've done everything I'll start over again.
