ive heard and beleive the importance of varying your protein sources but is it really necessary to vary your carb sources

i mean i tend to eat oats and veggies as my main sources of carbohydrates


is this acceptable or are things like whole grain breads,rice and yams something that is very important to have in your diet and by not having them am i short changing myself
