I've had a few nagging questions on my mind recently that I was hoping to get some help with.
1. I'm about 170 lbs at 13-14% bf. 5'11'' and 21 years of age. I lift weights 3x a week and do Low intensity cardio afterwards. On 2 of the days that I dont lift, I usually run sprints. This puts me at about 3-5 moderate intensity activities per week. I am an ectomorph by nature. Therefore I figure my activity level is about 1.6 which when multiplied by my BMR (1884) puts me at 3014.4 calories per day to MAINTAIN my bodyweight. Does this look about right? I figured my maintenance level would be lower than that....closer to 2,600-ish. Did I calculate wrong? I used this site: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ to calculate my BMR...
2. When cutting, would the best approach be to eat 200 calories below maintenance and then let the calories burned during lifting/cardio create even more of a deficit (but not toooo much of a deficit.) I'm guessing lifting/cardio burns about 400 calories? Sprints burn maybe 200-300? That would put me at *around* a 500 cal deficit each day. Of course carb-up days would be different
3. Probably nit-picking, but is it better to do low intensity cardio walking at a higher % incline and lower speed, or lower incline and faster speed. Currently i'm walking for 30 minutes post-workout at 15% incline and 2.2 mph
Gracias!
