The Disabled Online Users Association (DOUA) and the eBay Elite have joined forces and will be co-hosting a reception on the opening night of eBay Live. This high energy event will take place on Thursday, the 24th of June, from 8 - 11 pm at the Aquarium of The Americas in New Orleans, Louisiana. The highlight of the evening will be "The eBay Community Celebrity Auction," orchestrated by buySAFE, with all proceeds going to DOUA. Reception attendees can bid to have lunch at a fabulous New Orleans restaurant with their favorite community member on Friday or Saturday during the convention. A few of the community personalities who have volunteered for the celebrity lunches include Ina Steiner (Editor of AuctionBytes), Marsha Collier (Author of eBay for Dummies), Scott Samuel (CEO of Ethical Technologies), Marjie Smith (Executive Director of DOUA), Jeff Grass (President of buySAFE), Scot Wingo (CEO of ChannelAdvisor), and Bill Bogardus (eBay Shooting Star Powerseller). In addition, there will be silent auctions during the event in which guests can bid on a variety of fantastic items donated by eBay Elite members and sponsors. Proceeds from the silent auctions will also benefit the DOUA. Everyone is invited to attend and meet some dynamic people, have a great time, and help support the DOUA. Since attendance is limited to 500 guests, this event promises to be the hottest ticket in town.
