Posted at December 27, 2014, 3:05 am: (I don't know exactly where to post this thread since I can't find a specifik injury-forum) Good day, I'm a 21 year old bodybuilder from Sweden. I've posted my issue on several swedish boards with some advice that I'll post here before I consult you guys for help. Description of my pain - Approx. 4 months ago, during an awsome triceps workout, I felt a little pop/ill stretch in my right elbow when I was going to do sitting cable extensions (right when I was getting into position.). This was after 4 sets of too heavy lying barbell extensions, which is fairly well known for putting some serious strain on elbows. The pain felt like someone was sticking a nail right onto my elbow. I couldn't continue the workout. I took a full two week rest, the pain was almost gone and I started to hit the weights very easily. But ever since, I have a constant light pain in my elbow. I can feel it clearly when I'm resting my elbow to hard surface, like a table. The pain is located on the center/upper/right side of the elbow, mostly. I have been to three different physical therapists here, and the first two said that it's nothing serious, that it should be gone "soon". They gave me no real diagnosis except from "overstressed microfibres" in the triceps/elbow area, and that they needed some rest and lighter training. Sure done that, but I still have it. The last therapist I visited, said that there's a syndrome that is called "neovascularisation". It happens when blood vessels grow into an overstressed/injured tendon, and it brings nerve vessels into it, that signals pain. However, to get rid of those, I need to train heavy, eccentric (negative reps only) training for my elbow. This is because eccentric training kills the blood vessels, and when done daily, it won't be able to heal up again so the nerve vessels will also die with them since they are getting their nutritient from the blood vessels. Said and done, after 2 weeks the elbow is much better, but still I have pain. Especially right above the elbow, and if I stretch out my arm to the side with my palms faced up, and totally relax wit hthe triceps, I can feel the area right above my elbow getting kinda "squeezed". I can train bench press and shoulder presses with no pain at all - which is good, but I still feel the pain when pushing my elbow to a hard surface or when trying to do lying triceps extensions or pushdowns (pushdowns feels much less of course). I've checked the symptoms for tennis/golfers elbow but I realize it's not what I've got. It's more similar to triceps tendonitis, but I read under its symptoms that it often "crawls" up to pain with repeated overuse of stressing movement, not a popping/acute pain like I got when I was doing an exercise. What can I do? I've tried ice, Voltaren (anti-inflammatory) and of course rest. And I'm continuing my dails eccentric rehab-training, but I'm afraid it will damage me more if this won't heal anytime soon, since everybody knows how stressing eccentric training is to tendons in general.
